What is Xob? Xob is unconventional. Xob products are made using a process called upcycling--- utilizing existing items as raw materials to create something new of higher quality or environmental value. We source thousands of gently used natural fiber sweaters and suit jackets that become the raw materials for Xob products. Raw materials are washed, sorted into color families and cut into the pieces and parts needed to make our products. No two items are ever alike- orders are placed by matching a style or "silhouette" to one of our color families. The color families are: Black/Grey, Blue/Green, Brights and Brown/Tan. Each color family will contain a wide variety of color and texture. A team of artisans mix and match the cut pieces into endless combinations which are then sewn into one-of-a-kind hats and accessories, each one unique as the next. Xob is green. The process of upcycling is good for the planet. Making Xob products requires virtually no new materials and gives life to clothing that has outlasted its usefulness. Last year alone Xob products diverted about 30,000 pounds of material from the waste stream. Even our production scraps find a new life. Sweater scraps that are too small to use get recycled into rag wool and fleece trimmings are used to fill dog beds in our local animal shelter. Xob is made in the USA.
